The main contributor of this website is Scott, and I’m just a regular guy. I don’t consider myself a guru and I’m not a health professional. I’m a guy who – probably like you – struggled with my weight for most of my life.
My dear mother took care of the buck teeth by waiting tables to pay for my braces. I’ll always be grateful to her for that. Thanks Mom!
I lost the chubbiness in my teens and early twenties. I could eat anything and stay slim and trim. Aren’t growth hormones great? But unfortunately, they don’t last.
By my late twenties I began gaining weight again. Ever since then, I’ve experimented with different diets. Not only to keep the weight off, but for my overall health too.
For years, Americans were told that a low-fat diet was the way to go and I bought into it. Unfortunately, like many others, I just got fatter. The government and health establishment demonized fat so much, they forgot about all the unhealthy sugar and carbs in these low-fat food products.
Over time, I began to understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy fats. I also learned the difference between simple and complex carbohydrates. I guess you could say I’m a bit of a nerd, because I love learning about this stuff and experimenting with it.
I think what really got me going was the book The 4-Hour Body by Tim Ferriss. I’ve followed his recommendations with great success for a couple of years now. He’s inspired me to continue my own experimentation. Here I am in my lab (kitchen) getting ready to start another diet:
So why am I sharing all this information with you? Well for one thing, I love sharing with others what I’ve learned and continue to learn. Just ask my friends and family!
The internet gives me a much larger audience and I assume you’re here because you want to learn this stuff.
Another reason is a little selfish. It helps me with my dieting. I’m finding the best diet for myself and it keeps me motivated!
So that’s our story. I hope you find what you’re looking for on the pages of this website and have great success in the story of your life.
